Vader Could Appear in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One

|

With the new Star Wars trilogy and Star War: Episode 7 hitting theaters this holiday season – December 18, 2015 to be exact – Star Wars and sci-fi fans will be receiving a present this holiday season. While we may be gearing up for what hopefully is a great Star Wars movie, from what we’ve seen from the trailers so far, it should be, more news continues to drop regarding the standalone films coming to theaters in the future.

Today’s news involves the standalone Anthology: Rogue One movie. According to rumors, it looks like Darth Vader will be gracing the big screen once again. The movie itself will be a heist-film/war-movie combination that takes place between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. The plot of the film will center around a small band of rebels and their quest to steal the first Death Star plans.

It appears that Darth Vader won’t be the main baddie of the film but rather will be behind the scenes pulling the strings while someone else does the dirty work. This would make sense given the Sith Master/Sith Protégé relationship. But there’s a chance that we could hear and see the James Earl Jones voiced Sith Lord in action.

Felicity Jones is set to star in the film and it looks like Ben Mendelsohn will play her opposite. The kicker being that he will play the main villain of the movie.

As for filming, the movie production is set to begin this summer in London. The movie will debut almost a year after Episode VII on Dec. 16, 2016. Given the Rogue One moniker, chances are we could see the fighter pilot squadron in action.
