In a moderately hyped but huge announcement, Blizzard Entertainment revealed the next expansion for its flagship franchise – World of Warcraft: Legion. The sixth expansion to the World of Warcraft franchise, Legion brings back its namesake – the Burning Legion storming back into Azeroth after the Tomb of Sargeras was reopened. The Burning Legion is intent on summoning the Dark Titan and ruling and/or destroying Azeroth once and for all!

the broken isles world of warcraft legionWorld of Warcraft: Legion brings a whole new continent: The Broken Isles with six new zones: Azsuna, Suramar, Val’Sharah, Stormheim, Highmountain, and The Broken Shore. An ancient land full of wonders and history older than human civilization that also happens to be where the demons are invading. Other enemies include savage drogbars, twisted satyrs, and cursed Kvaldir. Gathering your followers in your new Order Hall, you’ll be able to adventure toward the Pillars of Creation and unlock its secrets to save Azeroth.

New raids and dungeons, of course, will grace Legion as well as a new artifact weapon system that looks highly intriguing with customizable looks, abilities, and other aspects of each weapon. From Blizzard’s website: “Your myth-forged weapon grows in power as you do, and your choices will change its abilities and the way it looks, sounds, and feels in combat. Fashion your artifact into the perfect instrument of battle, and guide your faction in its most desperate hour.”

And, what you were really waiting for, a new Demon Hunter class! THAT HAS DOUBLE JUMP. I REPEAT.Demon Hunter World of Warcraft Legion DOUBLE JUMP. Demon Hunters are outcasted elves that tried out the Burning Legion’s demon power, because they were trying out other people’s power before it was cool. As if double jump wasn’t enough to seduce you, Demon Hunters have super neat abilities like: Spectral Sight which, as one would imagine, is magically augmented sight since they’re technically blind and Metamorphosis: transforming into demons, basically.

A very welcome announcement for an aging game, Legion should hope to ignite a bit of your inner demon and let you double jump all over Azeroth. Check out all the info on their main webpage and make sure to opt-in for beta testing!

There’s no release date for the new expansion yet but we’ll let you know when we find out. Stay tuned!
