Reddit Reports Nexus 6P Screen Coming Off Frame

Before we delve into the issue at hand here we have to preface this story with the fact that not every phone made will be issue free, including the iPhone and many other Android phones. Just because one or a handful of phones might have an issue doesn’t inherently make the phone a POS nor does it mean every phone will suffer the issue. That being said, Reddit user qubasiasty is reporting their Nexus 6Pir?source=bk&t=techaeris 20&bm id=default&l=ktl&linkId=fac75385d785307871b170ca687ff6b7& cb=1452874630864 screen is detaching itself from the frame and they are sending the phone in to be fixed via RMA. They claim they can slide a fingernail between the screen and the aluminum frame of the 6P, which isn’t a good thing at all.

The Nexus 6P is far from the first smartphone to suffer an issue like this. My personal Nexus 6P has not seen this issue although I do still have that slight raised edge on the back of the chassis which can be annoying when I don’t have a case or skin on it. Some of the Reddit comments are less than forgiving though and they clearly aren’t happy with Huawei’s build quality of the Nexus 6P.

I’d like to see people defending this. This is clearly poor build quality. It hasn’t been designed well or it’s components are shite.

This phone has had so many build issues but people are still adamant this phone is perfect. It worse when you consider the sales of this versus an s6 or 6s.

I was afraid this would happen with Huawei’s glass in an aluminum “bowl” design. There is not much holding the front assembly to the backing.

So far the Nexus 6P’s we have here on staff haven’t suffered any major defects or flaws but that’s not to say some batches may not be bad. How’s your Nexus 6P holding up? Have any issues or have you had to RMA yours? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
