You can find an exorbitant amount of example of great video shot on the iPhone on YouTube, and there’s no doubt some of those clips are awesome. But it’s a bit more rare to find someone shooting a short film or cinematic work on an Android Phone. YouTube user Sam Jones decided to change that and took his Nexus 6P out on a little adventure to shoot his short film The Forest. Jones used his Nexus 6P to shoot the video using the Cinema FV-5 app available on the Google Play store, and post processing was done with Adobe Premier Pro CS6 — the results are pretty amazing. The video was shot in 4K and exported at 30mbps, if you have a 4K monitor you should probably make use of it here.

The footage that can be had on smartphones these days is amazing and the Nexus 6P camera really did a great job on this short film. Jones also used process stabilization in Adobe Premier Pro CS6 to help keep his shots from looking shaky. Overall this is a really great job using the Nexus 6P and some pretty nice editing skills in post processing as well. We’re looking forward to seeing what else Jones does with his Nexus 6P.
