NECROPOLIS Coming To Consoles Courtesy Bandai Namco

It’s not always the easiest for independent developers to bring their games to consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While some self-publish, others stick primarily to releasing their games on Steam for PC and/or Mac and/or Linux. Harebrained Schemes, developer of NECROPOLIS, was lucky enough to catch the attention of Bandai Namco at PAX East last year.

According to the developer, Bandai Namco thought that NECROPOLIS would make a perfect companion game for Dark Souls fans, and of course Harebrained Studios thought it was a perfect fit for consoles.

It’s a great partnership and we’re really excited to have an established publisher help our independent studio bring the game to consoles.

The game does look and sound pretty fun, and has a pretty cool art style:

Introducing NECROPOLIS: an addictive blend of third-person action and procedural dungeon-delving. Oh, and perma-death. Adventure alone or with up to 3 friends in a magical deathtrap that reconstructs itself each time you play. Will you find the exit, or die trying?*

(*SPOILERS: You’ll probably die trying.)

NECROPOLIS will ship on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this summer, with an exact date coming “in the near-future.” Are you looking forward to NECROPOLIS? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
