Apple Drops Price On Apple Watch $299

Tim Cook took to the stage today to make a few announcements regarding the Apple Watch, none of which were earth shattering. In short, Apple dropped the price on the Apple Watch to $299 and introduced new watch bands for the “most popular smartwatch” available. After going through the typical sales pitch and numbers of Apple Watches sold and how beloved the device is, Cook showed off a new array of Apple Watch bands.

The bands are decent looking but the crowd (and myself) were less than thrilled as many were expecting a possible new Apple Watch. After the new bands announcement Cook did reveal that the Apple Watch will now have a starting price of $299, which I think will boost sales and lead into a new Apple Watch either in September or next March. To be honest, the Apple Watch should have had a starting price of $249-$299 when it launched but being an Apple product, it still did well at the inflated price.

Overall this announcement was disappointing as I would have liked to see a new Apple Watch with a redesign, maybe. I know that was a lot to hope for but isn’t that what life is built on? Hopes and dreams?
