, ,

Fans of Orange is the New Black only have a couple more weeks to wait as season 4 is set to return in June on Netflix Canada, along with a few other new series.

Netflix Originals

June kicks off with the Netflix Original Hibana: Sparkon June 2nd, a new series based on the prize-winning book. Starring Kento Hayashi, Kazuki Namioka, and Mugi Kadowaki, this dramatic series is about friendship and conflict between two comedians who search for meaning in life and comedy. Comedian Bo Burnham follows on June 3rd with a new stand-up special — Bo Burnham: Make Happy — in which he combines his trademark wit and self-deprecating humour with original music, offering up his unique twist on life.

June 17th sees the return of Orange is the New Black for its fourth season, in which we continue to follow Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, Taystee, and the rest of the crew at Litchfield Penitentiary.

The Fundamentals of Caring is another Netflix Original debuting this month, on June 24th. In this inspirational buddy comedy, a young shut-in and his caregiver take a road trip in search of landmarks, but end up finding hope and friendship. The Fundamentals of Caring stars Paul Rudd, Craig Roberts, and Selena Gomez.

Last, but not least, the first season of A Very Secret Service debuts on Netflix on June 30th. This series is set at the height of the Cold War in 1960, and is based on the true story of André Merlaux as he joins the French Secret Service and contends with enemies both foreign and bureaucratic.

Netflix Original Series For Kids

June is a loaded month for kids with one new and three returning series. The new series, Voltron: Legendary Defender is sure to be watched by kids and adults alike, in this all new series based on the 1980’s animated Voltron series. In the all-new series, five unlikely heroes and their flying robot lions unite to form the mega-powerful Voltron. The first season of Voltron: Legendary Defender debuts on June 10th.

Also on June 10th, LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship returns for a second season. In this animated series, five best friends face adventures side by side in their hometown. Zany antics, love and missteps are better with friends!

Madagascar’s booty-shaking King Julien is back on June 17th for season 3 of All Hail King Julien, while the third season of Dragons: Race to the Edge (based on the How to Train Your Dragon series) returns on June 24th.
