If any one on Big Red is looking for a new tablet to upgrade to or wants to add a tablet to their line, you are in luck as the company is starting pre-orders for the Asus ZenPad Z8.

I’m going to let you know right now that this tablet isn’t going to win any kind of medals due to it not being a high end device, but it’ll still be able to get through day to day use. To start off with, the screen size is 7.9″ with a QXGA 2048x 1536 IPS display. On board is a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. You will have the ability to expand the storage up to 128GB on a microSD card.  The rear facing camera is 8 megapixels, so you’ll get some pretty good pictures, but who takes photos with a tablet these days? As for the front facing camera it’s 2 megapixel, so selfies will be decent. Battery life is set at 4,680 mAh and should be more than enough to get you through an entire day depending on what you’re doing. Standby time is up to 23 days, so feel free to leave the ZenPad on without having to worry that it’s going to power off any time soon. Android M comes pre-installed with USB Type C charging.

Getting into pricing, you’re looking at $250 for full retail, $10.41 per month for 24 months thanks to Verizon’s Edge program, or $149.99 if you’re still looking into getting a contract. With this Android tablet starting out at a low price, it’s already beating the iPad minis that are being offered at Verizon too.

If you’re currently on Verizon, will you be getting this tablet? Let us know by leaving your comments down below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
