Longmire Season 5 is coming… this new trailer should hold you over

Longmire began its journey on the A&E network and for the first few seasons it lived there, and was one of the network’s most popular shows. Then suddenly and without explanation, A&E pulled the plug on the popular show in favor of more reality based shows, like Duck Dynasty. With fans left in the cold, jaded and outraged, a small contingency of them took to social media to demand the show return. While A&E stood firm in their unwise choice, Netflix stood up and took notice. Netflix picked up the rights to Longmire and went on to produce the next season and frankly, it was the best thing that could have happened to Longmire.

Longmire Season 5 picks up after the dramatic cliffhanger of season 4, where Walt Longmire (series star, Robert Taylor) and his girlfriend Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan (Ally Walker) are shot by an armed intruder in Walt’s house. Laying in a hospital bed attempting to make sense of the attack, their fate and relationship both seem uncertain. However, one thing is clear: Walt Longmire is being hunted. Meanwhile, Cady (Cassidy Freeman) is forced to come to terms with her deal with Jacob Nighthorse (A. Martinez), the ultimate betrayal for her father. Vic (Katee Sackoff) determines a new level of independence for herself and Ferg (Adam Bartley) begins a new relationship where deception lurks beneath the surface. Season 5 finds Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips) at the cross hairs of two warring parties and his allegiance to one could have deadly consequences.

Longmire, the contemporary crime thriller set in Big Sky country, is based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson. The series stars Australian actor Robert Taylor (The Matrix) as Walt Longmire, the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, along with Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Riddick), Lou Diamond Phillips (Southland, La Bamba), A. Martinez (General Hospital), Cassidy Freeman (Smallville) and Adam Bartley (Justified). Longmire Season 5 introduces guest star Dylan Walsh (Scrubs).
