I’ve been a huge fan of Wolverine for as long as I remember. Maybe it’s the fact that he can kick some serious ass, and it probably has something to do with the fact that he’s Canadian. While Hugh Jackman has been doing an excellent job portraying Wolverine, Logan will be his ninth appearance as the popular character in what I’m sure will be the Wolverine movie that we’ve been waiting for and always wanted.
If you’re in a PG environment, I suggest watching the trailer above, but if you’re not, I urge you to watch the extended Red Band trailer below. Even though it’s not marked as such, there’s still a couple choice words.
As you can see, this movie is definitely darker and grittier than previous Wolverine outings (with the exception of The Wolverine), and Logan now finds himself caring for a young mutant with similar abilities to his. Logan will be Hugh Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine — he confirmed it last year — but it definitely looks like he’ll be going out with a bang. Based on the trailer, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dafne Keen, who plays the young girl (Laura Kinney) rumoured to be X-23, steals the show on this one. If you’re an avid Wolverine fan, you’ll definitely notice some inspiration taken from the “Old Man Logan” storyline that ran back in 2008 through 2009.
