Save $30 on Daydream View until February 25th

Barely two months after it was first released, Google’s Daydream View is already on sale on the Google Store — that is if you live in the U.S. The mobile VR headset normally sells for $79USD, but from now until February 25th you can pick one up for $49USD from Google’s online Store.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Daydream, it’s Google’s virtual reality platform for mobile devices. Consisting of an app, the Daydream View headset which comes with a controller, and a Daydream-compatible phone, users can experience 360° videos, photos, games, apps, and much more. Even companies like Netflix have released apps that let you watch Netflix content in a virtual living room for when you’re at home or on the bus or a flight somewhere. As mentioned, you’ll need a Daydream-compatible smartphone, and right now it’s a pretty short list. Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are at the top of the list, as well as the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, Axon 7, and the upcoming ZenFone AR.

The Daydream View is actually pretty comfortable and works quite well (check back for our full review soon), and $50 is a pretty sweet price point for it. Unfortunately, this deal is for U.S. customers only, as seems to be par for the course for most Google hardware sales.

Have you been waiting to pick up a Daydream View? Now that it’s only $49 (for a limited time), are you more likely to? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
