Recently Motorola promised 12 new Moto Mods this year, as well as support for Moto Mods for the next three years. The company has teased a few new Moto Mods, including the Amazon Alexa Moto Mod which will be available this year.
While the Moto Mod will be coming, Motorola is also working with Amazon to bring Alexa integration to the Moto Z lineup, and it will allow you to use Alexa without having to unlock your phone.
With our Amazon Alexa Moto Mod, you can easily perform everyday tasks while on the go, like controlling your smart home, checking the news, requesting a ride from services like Uber, and more — using just your voice. For example, when you start your commute home, you can ask Alexa to adjust your home’s temperature so it’s comfortable when you get there. Or, you can add milk to your shopping list without ever picking up a pen.
Motorola also teased a few other mods including the Moto Power Pack which will retail for $49USD/€49 and add 50% more battery to your device. Other upcoming mods include a wireless charging Moto Mod (yay!), a Turbo Power Moto Mod, a charging adapter, and the Gamepad Moto Mod. Due out this summer, the Gamepad Moto Mod will turn your phone into a mobile gaming console by adding physical controls, an integrated battery, and more. A few of these mods definitely sound like some of the finalists from the Transform Your Smartphone campaign and competition, it will definitely be interesting to see which ideas were chosen and backed by Motorola for development.
