The Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker is beautifully designed with naturally colored bamboo on the face and rear of the unit. This lends a rather elegant, retro look to the Archeer A320. The sides of the unit are covered in a cloth that looks like fine weave burlap. The materials are all very nice to the touch and the size of the speaker makes it very portable. I would say it’s about the size of a large pencil box like the ones used in grade school.
There are 2 tweeters and a subwoofer on the Archeer A320. The top of the unit houses the volume controls, play/pause and the power button. The rear of the unit has an aux port, reset button, led charging light, DC in, and a bass vent port. It’s all very nicely designed and makes for an elegant design.
Ease of Use
Setting up the Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker is no problem at all. Turn the power on, find the A320 on your Bluetooth list, connect, and start enjoying your music. You can access play/pause and volume either from your phone or from the top of the unit itself. Nothing difficult here, Archeer wants you to spend time enjoying your music, not trying to figure out how to use their speaker.
Now let’s talk about the main reason we all buy speakers: the sound. Beauty and ease of use are nothing without great sound. Well, I’m glad to say that the Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker shines just as brightly in this aspect as it does in all others. The sound of this little speaker is amazing. It fills the room with a rich, rounded sound that almost makes you feel like your favorite band is right there in the room with you. Anywhere you are in the room the sound is amazing, but sitting right in front of the Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker will leave you enveloped in spectacular sound. I spent plenty of time just sitting in front of this speaker with my eyes closed, enjoying the amazing sound without the bother of headphones.
The bass this little speaker puts out is astonishing. And it’s not just the amount of bass, it’s the quality of the bass that will floor you. The bass is rich and bright, not muddied and muffled as is sometimes the case. I put on a playlist with bass heavy artists such as Marcus Miller, Tal Wilkenfeld, Primus, Jaco, as well as a variety of EDM and dubstep. I would have to say that I put the little Archeer A320 through a rather intense bass test and it passed with flying colors. If you like bass, I think you’ll love this little speaker.
Besides the subwoofer that pumps out all that bass, you get two tweeters that take care of the high end and do a fantastic job of rounding out the sound for an incredible sonic experience. Vocals come through nice and clear, and I did not detect distortion until the volume was turned up nearly all the way. Considering how loud the A320 is at 50% volume, I don’t think many of us will be turning it up loud enough to hit that distortion wall.
The Bluetooth reception of the Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker was at least 50 feet. I put the speaker on one side of my house, walked clear to the other side and it never dropped the signal. I then took the speaker up to the first floor and set it on one side of the house and went back downstairs. It finally dropped the signal when I was on the opposite side of the house on the lower level. So that’s 50 feet away and on a different level of the house. Yes, the Archeer A320 has some very good reception. It does not take phone calls.
Archeer estimates the battery life at 11 hours with the volume set at 50%. I did the battery life test with the battery fully charged, the volume set at 50% and the source never farther than 2 feet from the speaker. I was able to get 11 hours and 42 minutes of playback before the battery died. The volume of the music gets lower as the battery is nearing the end of its charge. I do wish there were light indicators showing how much charge there was left before that happened though. I’m sure this would be more than enough for most people, but if you need to have the music playing longer than this, it may be a problem. Also, Some competitors offer up to 80 hours of battery life.
The Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker is usually available for purchase on Amazon at a regular price of $199.99USD. Currently, you can purchase the A320 for $79.99USD on Amazon. I’m not sure how long this offer will be in place, but I think it’s a great deal. For this price, I think anyone currently in the market for a Bluetooth speaker should check the A320 out. The quality of the sound makes this speaker an exceptional value at this price.
The Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker would be great for a variety of uses. Set it on your desk and listen quietly while working or turn it up at a party and have a whole room full of people enjoying the big, room-filling sound. Sure there is some distortion at the highest of volumes, but I’d bet most people wouldn’t be turning the A320 up that high anyway.
The Archeer A320 Bluetooth speaker offers great sound, a beautiful design, decent battery life and portability. For the price, you really can’t ask for more than that.
