While the Samsung DeX station and the new Samsung Gear 360 were announced back in March, Samsung Canada has announced that they will both be available in Canada starting today (Friday, May 26th) at various retailers. In case you missed the announcements, the Samsung DeX is designed to provide the ultimate productivity for mobile professionals while reducing the need to carry multiple computing devices. The Samsung DeX station provides a desktop-like experience and enables users to easily access apps, edit documents, reply to messages and more, with the added convenience of a larger display, keyboard, and mouse.

“The smartphone has become the central point for the modern mobile professional, and when giving a presentation or editing documents remotely, it means they can work effectively using just their smartphone. We developed Samsung DeX with the highly mobile worker in mind, giving them a convenient and flexible desktop experience,” said Injong Rhee, CTO of the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our collaboration with key partners such as Adobe and Microsoft was essential in the development of Samsung DeX, as they share our vision for building excellence in mobile productivity. With Samsung DeX, enterprise users can also be assured their smartphone and data are protected by the Samsung Knox security platform built into the smartphone. Samsung DeX redefines what a smartphone can do to keep mobile professionals productive.”

It also features Adaptive Fast Charging (AFC) technology to quickly charge supported Samsung devices like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

The new Samsung Gear 360, on the other hand, is a 4K resolution-capable 360-degree camera with a refined, lightweight and compact design. With the new Gear 360, Samsung has introduced enhanced features including expanded compatibility and real-time content sharing so users can seamlessly share, view, and edit high-resolution content on the go.

“As consumers turn more to video to share their experiences, we want to deliver accessible and innovative products to make digital content easier to create, share and stream,” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Wearable Business, Mobile Communications at Samsung Electronics. “The updated Gear 360 will continue to expand the horizons of what consumers can experience and share.”
