Motorola Android 8 upgrade list has been posted

Android 8.0 Oreo is out on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL along with the LG Nexus 5X/Huawei 6P along with some other phones that will be getting it sooner or later. One OEM that has been pretty good at keeping their smartphones up to date before some other OEMs out there is Lenovo/Motorola.

Recently, Motorola posted on their site that which of their phones will be getting Android 8.0 Oreo with all of its features such as Picture in Picture (PIP), notifications dots, and more. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon will be eventually pushing out the update to these devices, but it’s not guaranteed if these phones will all receive the updates, though they are all fairly new devices. One series that is missing from this list is the Moto G 4th gen family. The Moto G4/G4 Plus has been out about as long as the Moto Z, yet the Moto Z is receiving the update. Check out below which devices are getting the update.

AT&T: Moto Z and Moto Z2 Force

Sprint: Moto Z2 Force

T-Mobile: Moto Z and Moto Z2 Force

Verizon: Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, Moto Z2 Force, and Moto Z2 Play

Unlocked: Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5S Plus, Moto Z, Moto Z Play, and Moto Z2 Play

The updates seem to only be for U.S based phone carriers for the time being, so there’s no word for when Motorola phones outside the states will receive the update if they haven’t already.
