Turn 10 backtracks on Forza Motorsport 7 VIP membership rewards after backlash

Longtime fans and supporters of the Forza Motorsport series have generally been pleased with how Turn 10 rewards their loyalty. One such feature is the VIP membership which allows for increased race rewards along with other bonuses. In past games where the VIP membership was implemented, Turn 10 offered double credit bonuses, allowing gamers to get ahead with vehicle purchases.

However, the Forza Motorsport 7 VIP rewards listing was quietly updated after the Ultimate Edition early access went live and there was confusion over how the credit bonus worked in the latest game in the series. The listing was modified to read that the bonus was in fact awarded as “five 100% CR bonus Mod cards (five uses each per card)” —  and not as the double CR race bonus VIP members were accustomed to. This, understandably, unleashed a backlash from those who had played previous versions and were expecting a permanent credit bonus for each race.

As it turns out, that backlash was heard loud and clear by Turn 10 and an open letter by Alan Hartman, Turn 10 Studio Head, was posted online. Not only is Turn 10 reverting the Forza Motorsport 7 VIP rewards to the way it worked in Forza Motorsport 6, but are also gifting VIPs with four additional Forza Edition cars and 1 million credits to make up for the confusion.

Going forward, we will continue to ensure that Forza Motorsport 7 VIPs receive the most value for their VIP membership, including new experiences and great content. Starting today we’re sending all Forza Motorsport 7 VIPs four additional Forza Edition cars:

2016 Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 Forza Edition
2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Forza Edition
2017 Acura NSX Forza Edition
2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S Forza Edition

In addition to the cars, we’re also sending all Forza 7 VIPs 1 million credits.

The vehicles are Tier 5 Legendary cars, so they’ll add a nice boost to the Car Collection score. Interestingly enough, when I logged in tonight, I was awarded three FE cars (the Jag, Chev, and Maserati) and the credits. There was a message as well that made no mention of the credits but stated that five cars were being rewarded.

As mentioned above, the company is also working on fixing the current VIP credit bonus system and implementing the Forza Motorsport 6 system.

We’ve already started work on this feature and we will release it as soon as possible. Look for more information on this update as we near the release date.
