Dead Space is free on Origin right now

A free game on Valentine’s Day and it doesn’t have anything to do with the holiday? In fact the complete opposite. Origin is offering EA’s Dead Space game for free right now on the house ya’ll! If you haven’t played the Dead Space series yet, you definitely should as it’s great to play. Especially in the dark. At night. When no one is home. With the sound turned on loud.

The game synopsis goes as such with an over-the-shoulder third-person style:

The game puts the player in control of an engineer named Isaac Clarke who fights Necromorphs, monstrous reanimated human corpses, aboard an interstellar mining ship, the USG Ishimura. Isaac Clarke must fight his way through a mining starship infested with an alien scourge. The crew has been slaughtered, and their corpses reanimated into creatures known as “Necromorphs”. Various types of necromorph appear throughout the game, each with different abilities and requiring different tactics to defeat.

With any horror game, there will be jump scares at any possible moment when you may least expect it. You get to upgrade some sci-fi looking armor and weapons too that’ll help you defeat the tiniest Necromorphs like the Crawler or Lurker to the biggest Necromorph like The Nexus or The Tormentor. For now, the game is “On the House” with no specific end date that’ll bring the free price back to $20. Hey, a free game is a free game though, so don’t think too hard about whether you should get the game or not.

I’ve already mentioned this before, but if you haven’t played Dead Space yet, you should definitely try it out if you like horror games. Do you plan on downloading the game for PC? Has anyone played any of the Dead Space games before? Let us know by leaving your comments down below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
