Stranger Things Season 3 looking to cast 3 new recurring characters

Entertainment / TV

Any ideas who you’d like to see cast in these roles?

Chances are good you’ve all seen the first two seasons of the Netflix Original, Stranger Things. The show is deeply rooted in the 80’s, and if you’ve somehow missed it, follows the adventures of a group of kids in their hometown of Hawkins, Indiana. Season 2 saw the addition quite a few new characters who affected the plot and story in numerous ways. Stranger Things Season 3 is gearing up to begin filming, and the show is looking for three new recurring characters to add to the mix.

That Hashtag Show received information about a trio of new characters, along with descriptions of each. The names are likely just placeholders for secrecy reasons, though who knows? We’ll have to wait until Season 3 is released in 2019, or at least until promotional materials for the next season come out at some point in the future. Take a look at the character descriptions below:

“Mayor Larry Kline.” Described as a classic, 80’s style slick politician, “Kline” is described as pathetic and driven only by his own interests. The studio is looking for a male, 40s-60s, to fill the role.

“Bruce.” A morally compromised news reporter in his 50s, “Bruce” was described as outwardly sexist, overweight and bedraggled.

“Patricia Brown.” “Patricia” seems to be filing the role of the sweet, neighborhood elder. The studio is looking for a woman in her 70s for the role which will see her spending a lot of time tending to her garden and offering her advice to the neighborhood kids. Given the Duffer brothers affinity for subverting expectations, we find ourselves wondering if this sweet old lady might have some connection to the Upside Down; then again, that might be just the type of thing they want us to think we know and she just ends up a sweet old lady!

What do you think about these additions? How do you think the’ll be worked into the new season? Any ideas who you’d like to see cast in these roles? Let us know in the comment section below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
