Entertainment / TV

Halloween Horror Nights will run on select nights from September 14th through November 3rd.

If you’ve ever felt that you’d really like a chance to walk through the Upside Down, this may be your best chance to do so. Universal Studios announced the first haunted house maze for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event, and things ought to get just a little bit strange. The popular Netflix series Stranger Things will get the HHN treatment with its own haunted maze at HHN 2018.

Having attended several consecutive years of Halloween Horror Nights, I can tell you that Universal Studios puts a lot of care and effort into creating experiences that really immerse you into the source material. Working directly with Netflix ought to produce something really amazing for Stranger Things fans. The ambiance and set pieces should look pretty close to what you’re used to seeing while binge watching, and you ought to see plenty of the Demogorgon as HHN absolutely wants to give attendees a good scare.

Universal Studios gave only a brief look at what you can expect to see:

We’re very excited to be working closely with Netflix – to give our guests an immersive experience into the “Stranger Things” world by recreating some of the show’s most iconic scenes, 80’s settings, and most loved characters (#RIPBarb).

You’ll faithfully follow the storyline, starting off on Mirkwood and then quickly moving to inside Hawkins National Laboratory where things have gone terribly, terribly wrong.

From there you will experience all the most memorable moments and environments from the show while being hunted at every turn by the Demogorgon.

And of course, you’ll step into the mysterious darkness of the Upside Down more than once – whether you like it or not.

This is only the first of nine haunted mazes to be announced for Universal Studios Orlando, though the Stranger Things house will have a spot at Universal Hollywood and Universal Singapore as well. Halloween Horror Nights will run on select nights from September 14th through November 3rd. If you’re a fan of Halloween, of Horror, or just want to see what they’ll do with Stranger Things, you can pick up tickets on the Universal Studios Orlando HHN page. Hollywood and Singapore tickets can be purchased from their respective Universal sites as well. Universal Studios released an appropriate poster for this announcement as well:
