Harman and Google have worked together to bring Google Assistant to the JBL LINK line of smart speakers. Google I/O starts today in Mountain View but yesterday the two companies gave us a sneak peek at the LINK BAR — a JBL soundbar that is powered by Android TV with Google Assistant built in.

Wait, what? Google Assistant AND Android TV built into the soundbar? An industry first, the soundbar will allow anyone to turn any TV into a smart TV.

It’s designed to combine JBL’s audio expertise and Android TV’s plethora of content, delivering a smarter way to watch your favorite content with best-in-class sound. The LINK BAR turns any TV, regardless of make or model, into a Smart TV. Just by saying “Hey Google,” you’ll open the door to a world of programming available hands-free through Android TV. So, whether you prefer to binge your favorite shows or hear the thumping action of live sports, the JBL LINK BAR has you covered.

While pricing and availability are slated to be announced later this year, you can be assured that more details about what Google has in store for Android TV and Google Assistant during Google I/O over the next few days.
