Following up on the success of their initial OVAL all-in-one smart sensor, the company has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new and improved OVAL 2.0. The all-in-one home smart sensor monitors for motion, temperature, humidity, light, and water changes and can alert users via email or the phone app.
“No two homes, or people, are alike, and OVAL was created with this in mind,| says Mike Harry, CEO of OVAL Digital Inc. “After our initial release, we spent the year speaking to our customers all over the world, learning how they were using OVAL around the home and asking how we could improve our smart sensor to provide even more value to our customers. OVAL 2.0 is the result of both customer feedback and the latest technology available.”
In addition to a new look, OVAL 2.0 also features Amazon Echo and Google Home support. Small and wireless, no custom installation is required and the system only takes a few minutes to set up. With a range of 150′ per sensor and a battery life of up to 6 months, the updated OVAL sensors are more reliable and offer a faster response time than the previous offering. The app has been redesigned as well and will offer new features like real-time sensor monitoring and analytics.
The company is offering a tiered purchase option for early backers. With a retail price for the OVAL Smart Home system which includes one OVAL Gateway and one OVAL Sensor of $269 USD, day one backers can get it for $99USD. The price increases to $109USD tomorrow and then up to $119USD for the rest of the campaign. Depending on how many Gateways and Sensors you need, there are packages that run upwards of $475USD which includes three Gateways and six Sensors with various options in between the Smart Home system and this one.
The OVAL Kickstarter is currently 10% funded of it’s $30,000 USD all-or-nothing goal with just under a month left. As with any crowdfunding campaign, there is a risk supporting them. We’ve recently heard about several that we’ve written about that have failed or are having issues. Our reporting on Kickstarter campaigns does not mean we support or are affiliated with them. Support at your own risk.
