It’s been 572 days since Samsung released the Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier. Some of us have been waiting long enough for the company to release its next iteration of the Gear series and the time may be upon us with some news that might interest you.
First off, the smartwatch release may coincide with the Galaxy Note 9 when that comes out in August. If that’s what Samsung is going to do, that would be wonderful because it’s been long overdue for a new smartwatch to show up. The name might not even be Gear S4, but rather the Galaxy Watch as Samsung has trademarked that name with the USPTO. A new name would make sense with it being a new year.
Next up, the new Classic version of the watch may come in a new color: gold. It’s only been available in silver up until now but with gold being a new option, it should sell pretty well for those who prefer that color over the other. As for the Frontier model, that color might only remain as black. It’s not a bad thing since black goes with just about anything but coming out with a different color might not look well.
Finally, the “Galaxy Watch” might come in different sizes, much like its competitor, Apple. Right now, the current Gear watches come in one set size that might be too big or too small for some. Samsung potentially offering two different sizes at launch would be another good move. It just depends on what size Samsung will go with since the Gear S3 Classic/Frontier come in at 46mm and the Gear Sport drops at 42mm. A smaller casing might appeal to anyone who doesn’t like the bigger casing but who knows what Samsung has in store for us. We’ll just have to wait for the announcement.
Of course, these are all just rumors at this point so we’ll just have to take them with the usual grain of salt until we get an official announcement.
Are any of you folks going to get the Gear S4 (or Galaxy Watch) when it comes out some point this year? What do you think about the rumored color and size options? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.Source: Phone Arena
