New Xbox Shopping Cart feature available for Alpha & Beta Insiders

The shopping cart has long been a staple on e-commerce sites on the web. The Xbox Shopping Cart feature has finally come and is available for Xbox Insiders in the Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead, Preview Alpha, and Preview Beta rings. To be honest, I hadn’t even thought of it as a missing feature until seeing the screenshots earlier today. File this one under “things I didn’t know I needed until it rolled out.”

On that note, the new Shopping Cart feature for the Xbox Store now allows you to not only add multiple games to purchase at once but also allows you to save a game for purchasing later.

Features of the new Shopping Cart include:

  • You’ll now see a Cart icon in the Store which will navigate to the Shopping Cart.
  • All game and app product details pages now have an “Add to Cart” button accessible from the “…” next to the Buy button.
  • The contents of the Shopping Cart are shared between web, PC, and console for approved users.

To use the new feature, if you’re in the Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead, Preview Alpha, or Preview Beta Xbox Insider rings, is pretty simple. Launch the Store on your Xbox One, navigate to a game or app page, select the … button next to the Buy button, and select “Add to cart.” Note, if you don’t see the Add to cart option right way, you may need to hard reset your Xbox One by holding down the power button until it powers off then restarts.

Honestly, though, in hindsight, this is a much welcome feature addition to the Xbox Store, especially around game sale time!
