In case you hadn’t heard, The Witcher book series by Andrzej Sapkowski (and popular CD Projekt Red video game series) is getting a series treatment from Netflix. Starring Henry Cavill in the title role, the streaming company has released the first image of Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.
Of course, the video game version of Geralt is what most people think when they hear of The Witcher. From the lighting, it’s hard to tell if his familiar scar is part of Cavill’s make up as well. As not much is known about the story the series will follow, it’s possible that could also come at a later date in the series.
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
