With December already here, Sony has announced their free PlayStation Plus December games for its members. There are six games to choose from depending on which console you own, whether it’s the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, or PS Vita.

The games that are free on the PlayStation 4 for PS Plus members this month are SOMA and OnrushSteredenn and SteinsGatee are free for the PlayStation 3, while Iconoclasts and Papers, Please are free for the PS Vita. The PlayStation 4 games are the real highlight here as usual, so if you’re not familiar with SOMA and Onrush games, you can read the synopsis below.

PlayStation 4

SOMA

The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and we’re going to have to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What makes sense? What is left to fight for?

Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.

You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.

Onrush

ONRUSH Standard Digital Edition is a new breed of high-impact, adrenaline fuelled off-road arcade racing! It’s about speed, takedowns and teamwork with high-tempo thrills that focus on the fun, the excitement and the spectacular. Download now and GET READY FOR THE RUSH.

PlayStation 3

Steredenn

Steredenn is a frenetic and chaotic space shooter, carved in big beautiful pixels, with insane boss battles. Embark in your ship and engage the fight against dreadful space pirates in a never-ending combat for your survival.

Steredenn is at the crossroads between a shmup and a rogue-like. Enjoy the infinite replayability of the game with its unforgiving gameplay, intense boss fights, (almost) randomly generated environments, twisted space events and a surprisingly large arsenal of weapons. Enhance your ship during your flight with many upgrades and forge your own path across the universe!

• Beautiful art and spaceships.
• Awesome boss fights.
• Addictive, ruthless.
• Endless arcade gameplay.
• Quick and intense sessions.
• INFINITE REPLAYABILITY: levels are (practically) randomly-generated.
• ARSENAL: 35 weapons and 25 upgrades with many interactions and combos.
• SCORING: beat your friends and be the best!

SteinsGate

When teenage scientists discover the ability to send messages into the past, they inadvertently set off a chain of events that alters their future.

Their experiments spiral out of control as they become entangled in a conspiracy surrounding SERN, the organization behind supposed failed time travel events, and John Titor, a mysterious internet forum poster claiming to come from a dystopian future.

With memorable characters, outstanding art design, and a heart-wrenching narrative, SteinsGate is a critically acclaimed visual novel that can be experienced time and time again.

• Experience a twisting narrative where user interaction alters the course of the future
• Forge lasting emotional bonds with the cast of original and hugely memorable characters
• Observe an enhanced visual presentation of the unique and masterful art style
• Become immersed in the world of SteinsGate, only fleetingly touched upon in the anime adaptation

PS VITA

Iconoclasts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unl4udZ5VJE

Robin just wants to be a mechanic and help people, but without a license she’s a sinner in Mother’s eyes. Ever since picking up her wrench, the world has been going nuts and she’s wanted to bolt it back together. Now Penance is raining down on everyone she loves and One Concern agents are after her.

But something big is going on – bigger than droughts of Ivory fuel and personal conflicts – and Robin’s in the thick of it.

Iconoclasts is the masterwork of indie developer Joakim Sandberg, seven long years in the making. Iconoclasts delivers awesome action, hilarious hijinks and an emotional rollercoaster of deeply personal storytelling.

Papers, Please

The communist state of Arstotzka has just ended a 6-year war with neighboring Kolechia and reclaimed its rightful half of the border town, Grestin.

Your job as immigration inspector is to control the flow of people entering the Arstotzkan side of Grestin from Kolechia. Among the throngs of immigrants and visitors looking for work are hidden smugglers, spies, and terrorists.

Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission’s primitive inspect, search, and fingerprint systems you must decide who can enter Arstotzka and who will be turned away or arrested.

You have until the end of December to get these games if you want to add them to your collection and play them over and over again, or if you don’t want them you can always wait to see what the month of January has in store. To download whatever current free games Sony is offering up, you can hit up the PlayStation Plus store.

Do you guys plan on getting any of these games for the month of December? Let us know by leaving your comments down below or on Google+Twitter, or Facebook.
