Trailer for Dark Phoenix looks really promising

Comics/Books / Entertainment / Movies

As much as I have enjoyed the MCU and will most likely watch Captain Marvel, Dark Phoenix has me more excited.

The X-Men movies have been a hit and miss franchise with Wolverine being the best of the bunch thus far. Now, we’re getting our first look at Dark Phoenix as 20th Century Fox has finally dropped the trailer. There has been much debate who is the most powerful Marvel character but there shouldn’t be any question that Dark Phoenix (Jean Grey) is right up there at the top.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the movie from 20th Century Fox then check out the trailer right after:

In Dark Phoenix, the X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable.

Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

As much as I have enjoyed the MCU and will most likely watch Captain Marvel, Dark Phoenix has me more excited. I think the darker story and visuals are what really grabbed me. Not to mention I grew up reading the X-Men comic books and know more about Jean Grey (Phoenix/Dark Phoenix) than I know about Captain Marvel.

Dark Phoenix opens June 7th in theaters everywhere. Are you going to see it? What do you think about the trailer? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter, or Facebook. You can also comment on our MeWe page by joining the MeWe social network.
