Acer has just announced the TravelMate X514-51 notebook made for traveling professionals. Acer says its slim design is perfect for frequent travelers even with an ample 14″ FHD IPS touchscreen. The TravelMate X514-51 weighs in at 2.16 lbs and measures 14.99mm.

Acer says you should be able to get up to 10-hours of battery life, depending on how the laptop is used. You can configure the TravelMate X514-51 with up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7 and you have DDR4 RAM options as well as SSDs for great performance.

The keyboard is LED backlit, always a plus and should just be a standard for all laptops. The X514-51 also supports Windows Hello with an onboard fingerprint reader for better security. The notebook also has a premium build using a magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. Acer says these materials are stronger than aluminum alloys but weigh 20-35% less.

We’re confident our professional customers will appreciate our thinnest and lightest professional notebooks to date. Sleek, yet robust, they’re built for the rigors of frequent travel with a sturdy chassis and strong security features to keep data safe at home and abroad.

The FHD display is more than enough for business users and saves battery over using a 2K or 4K display. Acer also has a blue light filter built-in to provide better eye comfort for users.

Backlit keyboards should just be standard.

The TravelMate X514-51 also comes with robust security features. An embedded fingerprint reader, integrated into the power button, works with Windows Hello for quick and secure sign-in via a fingertip. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip provides hardware-based protection for passwords and encryption keys.

The system is also preloaded with Acer ProShield, a suite of security and management tools, to safeguard sensitive data. A Kensington lock provides additional security. To facilitate repair, simply removing 11 screws on the underside of the chassis provides access the solid state drive, battery, heat sink, and Wifi network interface card.
