The Wild Stallions are finally coming back to the big screen in Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music. The movie was announced by its stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on Twitter and has been a long time coming. Bill & Ted 3 is the follow-up to Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey released in 1991.
The original Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure was released in 1989 and has been a cult classic for years. It’s still pretty amazing that Theodore “Ted” Logan has become John Wick. This movie has been in the works for a long time with a draft of it being completed in 2011. We’re not sure what all of the delays were about but it is finally happening.

In the film, Winter, of course, will play William “Bill” S. Preston Esq., while Reeves will reprise the role of Theodore “Ted” Logan. To fulfill their rock & roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they’ll be helped by their families, old friends, and a few music legends.

Orion Pictures will be releasing the long-awaited sequel through United Artists Releasing. August 21st of 2020 is the set release date and the movie is going to be directed by Dean Parisot who also directed Galaxy Quest, another cult classic.
The whole trajectory of getting the next one off the ground has been pretty much exactly like the experience of getting the original. Going to every studio, and they’re like, ‘What the F is this?’ It’s this kind of independent spirit, and the films have an anachronistic quality to them that’s a big part of what they are, fundamentally. I’m really happy that this one is the same. It doesn’t feel like some stale knockoff that a studio would have immediately gone, “Oh, this feels right. We have rebranded very successfully.”
Alex Winter
One beloved star that won’t be returning is George Carlin who played Rufus. No word on if the character will return with a replacement actor but it will be hard to replace Carlin.
