Samsung updates the Galaxy A30/A50 with a redesign and better camera quality

Not too long ago we covered Samsung’s announcement on the Galaxy A50. The company has announced they’ve released a small incremental update to the A30 and A50 devices. By a small update, I’m talking about a name change and some internal improvements. The Galaxy A30s and A50s will have a slight redesign, better internal specifications, and a bump in camera quality.

Starting off with the A50s, it’s going to have the same display as the A50 with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Internal storage will still start out at 64GB but there will also be a 128GB option. On the RAM side, 4GB is still the start but will go up to 6GB. The amount of RAM will vary by country, so be wary of that if you plan on getting this device.

The biggest change to this device is going to be the camera. The Samsung Galaxy A50 came with a 25MP standard and will now sport a whopping 48MP shooter. The depth lens will remain at 5MP while the Ultra-Wide lens will stay at 8MP. The front-facing camera also has been upgraded from its 25MP sensor to a 32MP sensor.

As for colors, you have the option of choosing Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Green, and Prism Crush Violet. Crush Violet is also a region variant.

What we didn’t get to last time was the Samsung Galaxy A30, but the A30s does come with some up and downgrades. It’s keeping the same 6.4-inch display but will be dropping down from 1080 to 720p. What the phone didn’t have last time was an in-display fingerprint scanner but does now to follow suit with Samsung’s higher-end products that offer the same feature.

Internal storage comes in three different sizes: 32, 64, and 128GB. The phone will come with either 3 or 4GB of RAM like the previous version. On the camera side, the phone is jumping up from a dual camera set up to three cameras. The main lens is getting a 25MP sensor from the standard 16MP it was at and now a 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP Ultra-Wide lens. The front-facing camera will still sit at 16MP. This device will also have the same color scheme as the A50s.
