iPhone 11 models feature dual- and triple-cameras

Apple announced three new iPhone 11 models yesterday: the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. While the iPhone 11 touts a dual-camera setup, the Pro and Pro Max sport a triple-camera.

The latest iteration of Apple’s lower-end smartphone has an all-new dual-camera system. Apple claims the new system has the highest quality video in a smartphone. Like other manufacturers, the new iPhone’s camera will also come with a Night Mode for taking better pictures at night without a flash. A feature included with a number of different Android smartphones, it’s nice to see the iPhone finally getting it as well. The dual-camera system has Wide and Ultra Wide cameras with 4K video support.

Other features of the new iPhone 11 include:

  • 6.1-inch all-screen Liquid Retina display with wide color support and True Tone
  • Double-camera system with Wide and Ultra Wide lenses, as well as Night Mode
  • Haptic Touch integrated with iOS 13
  • Powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic chip which is up to 20% faster than the A12
  • IP68 water-resistant
  • New Apple-designed U1 chip with Ultra Wideband technology for spatial awareness
  • Face ID
  • Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos
  • Gigabit-class LTE and Wi-Fi 5
  • Dual SIM with eSIM
  • 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models
  • Colors include purple, green, yellow, black, white, and PRODUCT(RED)

As is always the case, Apple also announced larger screen variants of their latest phone. Sporting 6.5-inch displays, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max feature a new Super Retina XDR OLED display with 1,200 nits of brightness. In addition to the new display technology, the Pro and Pro Max are the first iPhones with a triple-camera system and feature a Wide, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto camera system.

  • Pro offers up to 4 more hours battery life than iPhone Xs, Pro Max offers up to 5 more hours of battery life than iPhone Xs Max
  • Face ID
  • Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos
  • Gigabit-class LTE and Wi-Fi 5
  • Dual SIM with eSIM
  • 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB models
  • Colors include purple, green, yellow, black, white, and PRODUCT(RED)

The iPhone 11 is available in six colours and starts at US$699. The 11 Pro and Pro Max will be available in four colours and start at $999 and $1099 respectively. All models will go up for pre-order starting this Friday, September 13th online and next Friday in stores.
