Adding CBS News to Samsung TV Plus bolsters the service to 70+ channels across 2016 – 2019 Samsung Smart TVs.

Samsung TV Plus delivers free TV with no strings attached. Granted, it’s not always the stuff you’re clamoring for but there are a few things in there that you might actually enjoy. Now, Samsung TV Plus has added CBSN – CBS News free 24/7 streaming news service.

This is CBS’s free streaming service that delivers 24/7 news in palatable chunks. Adding CBS News to Samsung TV Plus bolsters the service to 70+ channels across 2016 – 2019 Samsung Smart TVs.

“Samsung is excited to partner with industry leaders like CBS to bring CBSN and other notable programming to Samsung TV Plus,” said Salek Brodsky, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development for Samsung Electronics. “As viewership trends continue to shift, we feel it is important to offer consumers a live and linear TV experience that is completely free and deeply integrated into our Samsung Smart TV platform.”

According to the Convergence Research Group, 34% of U.S. households will not have a traditional cable subscription by the end of 2019. I’d wager that the percentage maybe even higher than that.

With the addition of CBSN, CBS News’ free 24/7 streaming news service, Samsung TV Plus provides consumers with an alternative way to access and watch the same news content on the largest screen in the home. The lineup includes channels spanning news, sports, kids, lifestyle, gaming, and more including ET Live, Cheddar, WeatherNation, fubo Sports Network, Outside TV+, Moonbug, Tastemade, QVC, PeopleTV, This Old House, FailArmy, The Pet Collective, IGN, and more.

Established in December of 2016 in the US, Samsung TV Plus is pre-installed on all 2016-2019 Samsung Smart TVs. Millions of consumers already use the service, making it one of the top OTT services on Samsung’s Smart TV platform. Users can instantly access their favorite TV content with just an internet connection — no download, additional devices, or credit card needed.
