So just when you think that all is roses and hearts in the mobile tech world, the worm turns and rustles up the ground. Gigaom is reporting this morning that a consortium of companies has filed a major lawsuit against Google, Samsung, Huawei, HTC, LG Electronics and other Android smartphone/tablet makers. The suit points to a variety of patent infringements they believe the Android makers have violated.

I’m sure you are interested in knowing who exactly is bringing these suits against Google and its OEMs. There are a total of five companies bringing the suits, some of which you have heard before. Microsoft, Apple, RIM, Ericsson, and Sony are the companies holding Google and Android under the fire. Gigaom is reporting that the patents in question are not even the creation of said companies but rather they are from the acquisition of Nortel, a company that went bankrupt some time ago.

Will the patent wars ever end? Hit the link below to read Gigaom’s full report with a copy of the lawsuit filed.
