Android watches seem to be on fire these past few months, Samsung and LG both released their G Watch and Samsung Gear Live just recently and now Best Buy will have the Gear Live available for purchase soon. While the Best Buy site doesn’t give details, we received an anonymous tip that puts the Samsung Gear Live release date at or around July 30th.
Let’s face it, smartwatches have been around now for (in our accelerated tech time) a long while. The Pebble watch has been on the market for well over a year and Samsung has already gone through two versions of the Gear. But interest in smartwatches has once again increased with the release of Android Wear. Now Motorola, LG and Samsung are blazing into mid 2014 with their takes on what a smartwatch should and could be. Rumors of Apple jumping into the arena have also circulated heavily lately. Without any evidence we can’t speak to what an Apple watch would even look like but we can say that if they decide to step in, competition will heat up that much more.
We haven’t had a chance to look at the Gear Live but our own Blake Mitchell did have the opportunity to purchase and review the LG G Watch, you can find that review HERE.
