Alleged Leaked Huawei Nexus 6P Presentation Shows Specs, Options

Humans are not a patient bunch. If we were, we could simply wait a few more days for the official unveiling of the new Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X. Since that wait can seem excruciating for some, we will soak up any potential information on our favorite tech that we can find. Today the victim of alleged leaked info is the Huawei Nexus 6P, the larger of two devices that Google is expected to announce on Sept. 29. Just when you think you know everything possible based on previous leaks, new leaks come along and shake up everything.

Some images posted to popular image hosting site Imgur show what appear to be slides from a presentation about the new Huawei Nexus 6P. Most of what is listed lines up with a lot of the previous leaks, but in a more professional looking package. These specs should still be taken with a grain of salt right up until they are made official or debunked at the official announcment on the 29th, but for now it gives us our most realistic look yet at what many Nexus fans could be carrying in the coming months.

Get those salt shakers ready, because here we go.

Huawei Nexus Overview

Seems pretty standard, and rather presentation-ish I suppose, but doesn’t tell us much other than that there’s a 5.7-inch screen. Thankfully some of the other slides are more telling.

Huawei Nexus Power

More presentation fodder, but there’s still some hope, don’t worry!

Huawei Nexus Options

Now we’re getting somewhere. The options and colors available, and potential confirmation that we’ll see a 128GB Nexus device. Just wait though, the good stuff is coming up.

Huawei Nexus Design

All-metal design all but eliminates wireless charging, which is unfortunate. There are some in-roads to get wireless charging on phones with metal construction, but we aren’t quite there yet. I’m personally a big fan of wireless charging, so that omission is a bit disappointing.

Huawei Nexus Fingerprint

New to the Nexus line, and widely rumored for quite some time, we do see the fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, exactly where it is expected to be. If the fingerprint access is true, that is an interesting twist. Sharing a device between several people using only their fingerprint is a cool implementation of the technology.

Huawei Nexus Camera

With the giant black bar on the back of the phone, you’d really hope that Google had something special up its sleeve with the camera. I’m not sure these count as particularly special, but we can hope there’s more to the camera than this alleged information.

Huawei Nexus Specs

And now for what we’ve really all been waiting for, the list of specs. A few of these aren’t particularly surprising based on some of the earlier slides above — screen size, metal unibody construction, etc. — but a few of these specs, if true, paint an awfully pretty picture. We knew the new Nexii would unveil the new version of Android, Marshmallow. We thought they might include USB Type-C. The 3,450mAh battery is huge —  230mAH larger than the battery of the Nexus 6. Coupled with Android Marshmallow’s battery saving features, it seems likely that the Huawei Nexus 6P should last nearly anyone an entire day with no issue. Dual front-ported speakers are a nice touch as well.

Do any of these alleged specs make you more or less excited about the Huawei Nexus 6P? Let us know in the comments below or on your favorite social media site.
