AMC Releases World Premiere Trailer For Preacher

Comics/Books / Entertainment / TV

If you were watching AMC’s The Walking Morgan Dead last night, you may have been woken up during the snoozefest by the World Premiere trailer for AMC’s 2016 adaptation of DC Vertigo’s comic Preacher.

The original comic series ran between 1995-2000 and followed the story of Jesse Custer, a small town preacher from Annville, Texas. After being possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis, who is the unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon, during an event which killed his entire congregation and demolishes his church, Custer becomes more powerful than God Himself and sets out on a journey to find God who just so happened to abandon heaven when Genesis was born.

It will be interesting to see how faithful this adaptation is to the original comic series. The AMC series starts Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, and Garth Ennis – the original writer of the comic – is on board as both writer and co-executive producer.

What did you think of the first trailer for the series? Are you going to be hopping on board and checking out Preacher when it airs in the middle of next year? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
