It all started out with a Kotaku article in which they were told by a GameStop location in New York that they were indeed taking pre-orders for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions of Overwatch at a price of $60USD. IGN followed up and was told that the console version is currently titled Overwatch: Origins Edition which may indicate that there might be some sort of story mode attached to the console version in order to sweeten the price tag.
Game Informer, a website owned by GameStop, reached out to Blizzard and was told to stay tuned during BlizzCon’s opening ceremony tomorrow.
“We are excited to share more information about Overwatch with everyone at BlizzCon this weekend – so be sure to tune in to the opening ceremonies for free at www.BlizzCon.com,” a representative told [Game Informer] via email.
We’ll certainly be tuning into BlizzCon this weekend for news and updates about all of Blizzard’s properties, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on what’s in store for Overwatch in particular which is currently in Closed Beta on the PC.
