Apple’s new Pro line just got a new family member in the iPad Pro 9.7″. Phil Schiller took to the stage today to introduce Apple’s latest iPad which replaces the iPad Air 2 and gains the Pro moniker to sit alongside the 12″ iPad Pro. Schiller says Apple has sold 200 million 9.7″ iPad’s and that size is very popular with users. The new iPad Pro 9.7″ weighs less than a pound and comes with Apple’s “Pro Display.” The display is 40% less reflective than the iPad Air 2 as well as 25% brighter than the iPad Air 2.

The new iPad Pro 9.7″ will also work with iOS 9.3’s latest features “Night Shift” and “True Tone Display.” The iPad Pro 9.7″ also sports 4 stereo speakers much like it’s older brother that are said to produces vibrant sound. This iPad is powered by the A9X 64bit processor paired with Apple’s M9 coprocessor, and it also supports “Hey Siri.” The Apple Pencil also works with the new iPad and Apple will have a smaller smart keyboard cover for this version of the iPad as well.

Apple is also introducing two new lightning port accessories, the USB camera adapter and SD card reader that both work with the iPad’s lightning port. Around back you have the 12MP iSight camera, because people “love” taking pictures with their iPad (sigh). There is no optical image stabilization but the camera does record 4K video. The front camera is a 5MP Facetime HD camera with “Retina Flash.”

The new iPad Pro 9.7″ comes in three configurations and prices. The 32Gb at $599, the 128GB at $749 and a first for Apple, the 256GB at $899. Orders open March 24th and the device is available March 30th.
