No EA Access early access or discounts for Titanfall 2

EA Access subscribers hoping to get early access and/or a discount on Respawn’s upcoming Titanfall 2 are about to be disappointed. Gamereactor is reporting that there are no plans to add Titanfall 2 to the EA Access program on the Xbox One or the Origin Access program on PC.

For those unfamiliar with the programs, they are available to Xbox gamers (EA Access) and PC gamers (Origin Access). For a monthly or yearly fee, gamers can subscribe to the service and have access to the EA Vault (full versions of older EA games for free), a 10% discount off of EA games, and early access to upcoming games. EA Access on the Xbox One is a pretty decent service, and there are already over 20 games in the Vault.

Apparently Respawn told Gamereactor that this wouldn’t be the case with Titanfall 2.

Titanfall 2 will not be part of EA Access and Origin Access when it launches. This means that PC and Xbox One Players won’t get early access, try it out for free, or discounts when it launches October 28. They clarify that it might get included in the future, but at least not this year.

No reason was given as to why the EA published game won’t be part of the EA Access program, but the original Titanfall was excluded as well (there were no EA Access discounts on the game) when EA Access first launched on the Xbox One, but has since been added to the Vault. The exclusion is also noted in the fine print on the EA Access FAQ.

What do you think about the decision not to include Titanfall 2 in the EA Access program? Are you an EA Access or Origin Access subscriber who was looking forward to early access and/or a 10% discount on the game? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
