Check out the crazy video game-like DEVTAC Ronin ballistic helmet

|

If you’ve ever played a first person shooter you know the importance of having armor in the game. Armor can vary from game to game but some games do offer helmets as an option. This real life ballistic helmet from DEVTAC, dubbed Ronin, looks straight out of a video game. The Ronin is designed to take some heavy punishment and protect the user from, well, bullets! This thing weighs in at nearly 5lbs. and offers 80% coverage to the head. That’s pretty damn impressive, check out DEVTAC’s Ronin video presentation below.

DEVTAC’s ballistic technology has gotten the attention of British Special Forces. As Tech Insider reports in the video below, BSF is currently testing the Ronin for potential use.

I’d imagine that once British Special Forces finish their assessment of the Ronin other agencies and governments may be looking into this helmet.

Over the last eight years, DEVTAC has invested heavily in the research and development of ballistic safety. With the release of the Ronin helmet, DEVTAC begins its long ambition to become a major contributor to ballistic protection products. DEVTAC is the future of tactical.

This helmet also allows for mounting of a HUD should the user need such a device. It seems like an overall very useful and protective tool that will protect law enforcement and troops alike in hostile situations. I still can’t get over how awesome it looks. I wonder who’s going to be the first to pick one up just to use for cosplay events, seems like it would fit perfect for some cosplay costume.

It’s always cool to see these types of technologies getting better and we’d like to know what you think of DEVTAC’s helmet. Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
