Windows Phone Gaining Market Share In The UK/Europe

In the mobile landscape Windows Phone is what we like to call, the underdog (unless you count Blackberry). Windows Phone holds a small percentage of market share across the globe while Android and iOS hold the highest. But it looks like there might be some fight left in the folks at Redmond. Forbes is reporting that Windows Phone is gaining market share in the U.K. and other European markets. It has broken through double digits in Italy (13.7%), France (10.7%), and the United Kingdom (11.4%).

Sure the numbers don’t look all that exciting but let’s admit that any movement upward is a movement in the right direction. I firmly believe that if Microsoft can grow their app selection and mature the ecosystem. They could continue to gain market share not only overseas but also in America where the majority are either on Android or iOS. Only time will tell what is going to happen with the Windows Phone platform. We can only hope that they pull it together, because competition is the best thing for innovation. And it is also the best thing for consumers. Hit the link below for Forbes full report and analysis.
