Generally I wouldn’t review a power strip just because, well, it’s a power strip. However, I found the Accel Powramid a curious product, so I took the opportunity to check it out when the company offered to send one to me for review.
The Powramid is a 6 outlet power center that also houses two USB 2.1A charging ports capable of charging your smartphones and tablets. The Powramid works just great as a power center and does exactly what any other power strip would do. The thing that makes this unique is the shape and configuration of the power center. Its circular pyramid shape is genius as it allows you to plug in all manner of oddball power supplies into it without crowding the rest of the outlets.
You know sometimes you have those bulky power supplies often found on routers, modems and cable boxes? That’s what this thing is made for. With any other power strip you often have to sacrifice an outlet or two, sometimes three to plug in those bulky, oddball plugs. The Powramid fits almost any strange shaped power supply without covering up any of the other ports. The top of the Powramid is where the on/off switch is located and Accell cleverly covered this up with a hard piece of plastic to keep it from being pushed in by accident.
Overall, I love this thing. I can now actually use all the outlets on the strip and not have to daisy chain power strips. For $35 it’s really a nice deal just for the space savings alone. The only downside I can see to the Powramid is its height. It may be a little too tall for some furniture to slide over top of it. For example, my entertainment center would not fit over top of this, although my center is a bit lower to the ground than some. It is just something to be aware of. I give the Powramid 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a solid power center with USB 2.1 charging and a nice space saving design. Hit the link below to get yours!
EDIT: Correction, the Powramid with USB Power is $35 not $25 as reported, we apologize for the incorrect report and have fixed the error and linked to the correct product.
