Rogers Releases Suretap Wallet In Play Store

|

With the lack of Google Wallet availability in Canada, people in the Great White North have been waiting for another option that would allow tap to pay transactions from NFC enabled mobile devices. Rogers has been testing Suretap with CIBC bank for several months and have now released the app for several compatible smartphones.

At this time credit cards are not able to be added to the app but Rogers has cleverly released their own prepaid MasterCard to use for it. The virtual card is very easy to load right from the app using any credit card or prepaid card. Other vendor gift cards can be added to the wallet as well. The best part is that Rogers has stated that Suretap will work at any terminal that accepts Visa payWave or MasterCard PayPass which means pretty much any contactless point of sale anywhere in Canada.

What you need at this time to use Suretap:  Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung GALAXY S5, HTC One, LG G2, LG Optimus G or the  BlackBerry Z10. Interestingly while the brand new just released Samsung Galaxy S5 is one the list, the htc One M8 is not. I will attempt to inquire with Rogers as to why this is the case. You will also need a Suretap LTE SIM card and of course the Suretap app from the Google Play store or BlackBerry App World. You can get all the info from this page at Rogers.
