Draco-1-Powerbank

Draco Designs makes some of the most beautiful aluminum bumpers on the market and after a few bumper reviews they sent along their 5000mAh Ducati Powerbank. First off this powerbank is beautifully designed. Just like their great bumpers, the Ducati Powerbank is made of A6061 aircraft grade aluminum. Inspired by Ducati’s 1199 Panigale superbike, the Powerbank is designed with a stylish aluminum case that incorporates core racing elements from Ducati.

The Powerbank has dual outputs allowing for charging of two devices. One is a 2.1A output that is suitable for iPads and other tablets. The other output is a standard 1.0A, which is perfect for the iPhone and other similar smartphones (though the Note 3 may have to use the 2.1A). Four white LEDs show how much juice is left in the Powerbank. One charge is good for a full charge on the iPhone and partial charge on the iPad, or a full charge of the iPad alone. Draco also includes a Ducati branded soft touch bag to carry your Powerbank around in style.

While 5000mAh is not a huge amount of power and there are other powerbanks on the market that are double the Powerbank’s battery size, what you’re paying for here is design and beauty. The chassis is nicely made and is super light. What you will have to determine when looking at the Ducati is whether or not you want to spend $99 on the price tag. As I alluded to before, there are other mobile battery banks on the market, but really, none look this nice or feel this good in the hand.

The Ducati works as advertised and provides that extra boost of power when it’s needed, all while looking quite stylish. I like the Powerbank a lot, the only thing it has going against it is the price tag. Draco doesn’t make junk, though; when you buy a Draco product, you can know it’s a high quality investment. I give the Ducati 4 stars out of 5, and recommend it if you’re willing to spend the money.
