SpaceX fans, if you are in the Washington DC area tomorrow (June 11), you are in for a treat. For one day only their shiny new factory stickered spacecraft, the Dragon V2, will be on display for the public. This wonder vehicle has the style of a Tesla Model S smacked into a UFO, seats seven and can land propulsively on a helipad (If you camp out for tickets – remember to use fireproof blankets).
Elon Musk’s Dragon V2 is by far one of the coolest machines we’ve ever seen and we are so very jealous of those who will get the opportunity to partake in the eye candy. If you’re not familiar with SpaceX or the Dragon V2 it’s simply a private space venture lead and funded by Elon Musk of Tesla electric car fame. This is all still in the babe stages and is very (beta) for lack of a better term, but we have to start somewhere.
My suggestion to anyone in the Washington DC area who is a geek of any level, get out there and see this thing. Then of course, report back here to Techaeris with pictures and details (wink wink). Seriously, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, take it if you can. And be sure to check out more info on the SpaceX program and the Dragon V2. We’ll post some links down below to get you going. In the meantime, let us know if you plan on making this last minute event at the Newseum in Washington DC!! And if you do, please share pictures or anything else you might come across.
