Video: David Bowie Five Years, A Showtime Documentary

|

David Bowie is a musical legend, I doubt many would dispute that. From his ethereal hit “Space Oddity” to his straight out rock jam “Young Americans,” the man has covered a wide variety of styles and moods (I mean, just look at Ziggy Stardust).

Now Showtime is running a documentary on the veteran glam rocker entitled Five Years. Showtime describes the documentary like this:

An intimate documentary spanning five key years in David Bowie’s music career, featuring a wealth of unseen footage and charting the star’s continual evolution through various roles, making him an icon of our times. This portrait explores Bowie’s regeneration in Berlin, and his numerous critical triumphs, and features interviews with all of his closest collaborators

Although I’m a big fan of 70’s rock and some of the glam rock stuff, I was and never have been a huge fan of Bowie as a whole. I have a lot of respect for his talents and contributions to the music and movie world, though – let’s not forget Labyrinth!

Will you guys be checking out the Bowie Documentary on Showtime? What do you think of Bowie? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter. The documentary runs August 1st at 9pm EST.
