Titanfall Update 6 Brings 8v8 Pilot Matches

Gaming / Xbox

Respawn Entertainment has released details on Titanfall Update 6 on their website. The most interesting addition to the Xbox and PC game is the addition of an 8v8 pilot match mode.

Titanfall‘s entire premise is based around Titans – giant mechs that are piloted by humans on the battleground so it is certainly curious as to why a Titan-less mode would be added to the game.

Pilot Skirmish is an 8v8 mode with no AI and no Titans. Due to the difference in player sizes with the rest of the game modes, Pilot Skirmish will not be among the game modes played when choosing Variety Pack playlist.

By removing the Titans from this mode, the game effectively becomes any other manner of multiplayer came including Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises. Perhaps feedback from players convinced Respawn to add this mode to the game in order to keep gamers interested.

Obviously a favorite mode, Marked for Death makes it’s way over to the permanent game mode list. As well, players will be able to unlock load out slots specifically for the Marked for Death game mode.

Burn cards are also getting a boost with an auto fill option – which will automatically fill up any empty burn card slots the player may have between matches. Individual burn cards can be purchased from the black market as well – these will be in limited supply and prices will vary. A new burn card called “Roll the Dice” is a special burn card that will let you access any burn card from your deck during the match – this could definitely turn the tide of battle during some matches.

Another welcome change to the game is changes to a player arriving late in a match. If you join over halfway into the match and your team is losing, you won’t be given a loss for that match – you will however still be awarded a win if your team wins.

How long have you been playing TitanfallAre these frequent updates enough to keep you interested in the game? Let us know what you think about the 8v8 Pilot Skirmish mode in the comments below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
