Marvel editor C.B Cebulski let loose a wave of geek goodness on Twitter earlier today as he revealed that a crossover between the Marvel Universe and Attack On Titan is coming. Crossovers between Japanese manga and American comics are rare to say the least, and one with properties as big as this could be huge.
The anime based on Attack on Titan has quickly been growing in popularity in the Western world. It has a deep yet accessible plot, a ton of great action, and a potato-loving female lead. What’s not to love?
I loved “Marvel Team-Up” and “What If?” as a kid. I would spend hours dreaming up my own crossovers & alternate reality stories. (cont.)

As I got more into manga, I always imagined how cool it would be for the Marvel characters to cross into the pages of manga worlds. (cont.) — C.B. Cebulski (@CBCebulski) November 3, 2014
For many decades & multiple reasons, almost no manga, especially popular titles, crossed into other comic universes… until now! (cont.)

If you ever wondered, “What if the titans from Hajime Isayama’s “Attack on Titan” attacked the Marvel universe?”, you’ll find out soon!! — C.B. Cebulski (@CBCebulski) November 3, 2014
Understandably, Cebulski had to confirm that he was not just messing with us as some sort of cruel initiation into the previously unheard of “November fools” holiday. He reassured us that the news was indeed real and even included this great teaser.
Not a joke, folks. Attack on Titan and the @Marvel universe are crossing over! In 2 weeks. In Japan. Want a teaser? pic.twitter.com/9AF5fqWLfX

Given that the Scout Legion in the Manga and Anime fly around in over-complicated contraptions that swing them around to take out a specific section on the Titan’s necks, Spider-Man is the first obvious fit to interact with the giant enemies. He already slings around of course, but it’ll be interesting to see how he’d actually take down a Titan. Does he get his own sword like other fighters?
I’m also anxiously awaiting a Hulk/Titan battle, or maybe Iron Man floating behind and blowing the neck off of a Titan. Or maybe Wolverine… oh. Nevermind…
Either way, we’ll find out when the crossover occurs in a mere two weeks!
