Hyrule Warriors Getting Big Update Along With Majora's Mask-Themed DLC

Hyrule Warriors has been going strong for months now, and as promised by Nintendo, the game has been receiving fairly constant updates and DLC packs. The latest of which will come on February 5th when the Majora’s Mask Pack DLC is released.
Headlining the add-on pack, of course, is the addition of Majora’s Mask-themed goodies. This includes the following additions (courtesy of Games City for the original article, and Gematsu for the translation):

  • New character: Young Link (available standalone for 500 yen) – A boy able to use the power of the demon’s mask. He fights nimbly and heroically with his sword. When wearing the demon’s mask, he takes its shape and his attacks are strengthened. This power is beyond human understanding, and he will not stop attacking until all of his enemies are destroyed.

  • New character: Tingle (available standalone for 500 yen) – A 35 year-old bachelor and the reincarnation of a fairy. He uses a balloon to freely jump around the battlefield and blow away enemies. His ability to do things like dodge and attack at the same time make him hard to predict and a force to be reckoned with.

  • New Adventure Mode map: Termina Map (available standalone for 500 yen) – In a world where the moon falls moment by moment, you can make free use of mysterious item cards that hold new powers while advancing through your adventure. As a new reward, you can earn some new rank weapons, as well as costumes.

  • New costumes: “Memories of Time” (available standalone for 200 yen) – Three costumes: “Skull Kid Style” for Lana, and “Ocarina of Time Style” costumes for Impa and Shiek.

These new characters, modes, and costumes come in addition to the Hyrule Warriors Master Quest Pack DLC released back in October that added Volga, Wizzro, and Cia as playable characters. Where all three of those were just other characters already in the game, this will be the first addition of characters not previously found in Hyrule Warriors.
The Majora’s Mask Pack will also bring along with it Hyrule Warriors 1.5.0, including several improvements and additions to the game. All of them appear to be ways to streamline the experience of playing the game, or give players more incentive to continue after already presumably sinking dozens of hours into it.

  • Maximum level increased

  • New mixing materials

  • New medals

  • New weapon skills

  • Updated Junk Store – “Skills Cancellation,” “Skills Advice,” and “Weapons Sale” added

  • Updated Adventure Mode information screen – “Damage Taken” and “Retry from the Beginning” added

You can pick up the Majora’s Mask Pack for $7.99 when it releases in the U.S. on February 5th. And if you haven’t yet taken the dive into Hyrule Warriors, check out our review and purchase at the link below if you’re interested.
