Scholastic Books is asking fans to help choose the greatest Goosebumps book of all time. In true March Madness fashion, they are setting the competition up as a 64-entrant bracket and also allowed fans to fill out a bracket and submit the completed sheet for prizes.
To enter, in true Goosebumps ’90s fashion, fans were required to fill out a bracket on a spreadsheet, save it as a PDF, and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Winners of the bracket competition will receive a signed copy of the winning book signed by R.L. Stine himself, three unsigned copies of the other books that made the final four, and an exclusive Goosebumps t-shirt. Unfortunately, the entry date for entering your bracket expired on March 15, but that still doesn’t stop you filling on out and saving it for bragging rights later on.
While it’s too late to enter the bracket competition, voting for the competition is now under way. Actual voting for the books is currently being done through Tumblr, where fans can vote on books against each other – again in the vein of March Madness and bracket obsession that comes along with the month. The 64 titles up for a shot at being named the ultimate Goosebumps book are split into four appropriately-named divisions – Curly, Slappy, Horror, and Lawn Gnomes.
Voting itself is simple and powered by Opinion Stage, giving you the option to see percentages and who is currently winning right when you vote.
A winner will be selected sometime around April 22. For full rules and regulations, check out the official Goosebumps rules posted on Tumblr.
