Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection Special Edition Console Now Available

Gaming / Xbox

Last November Halo: The Master Chief Collection arrived on the Xbox One which Microsoft called the definitive Halo experience.  It includes almost all of the Halo games. You can play through 4 campaigns – Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, a newly remastered Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4. The multiplayer of all of those games are included as well, at least most of the maps, to give you a one stop for everything Halo that you would ever want.

Now, 6 months later, you can purchase a special edition Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle which includes those Halo games mentioned as well as a special glossy white Xbox one with a matching white controller for $349. The white console does look nice and sleek but doesn’t resemble any of the prior special edition Halo consoles released. There is nothing that screams Halo about the console; it is just white.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had quite a few quirks when it initially was released which upset a lot of the fanbase but most of those have since been fixed. You can now search for games with full parties with ease and will no longer be finishing “1th” in any matches anymore.  Also, the host of the game cannot kick other players from ranked games or end the matches early if they aren’t doing well.

Although the new special edition white console looks great I feel that it lacks the Halo flare that all of the other special edition Halo consoles had that made them unique and stand out.  Personally, I still think that the original Xbox Halo edition console was my favorite of all of them. What do you think of the new special edition Xbox One?  Do you like the plain white design or is one of the other special edition Halo consoles your favorite?
